Search engines are the new yellow pages. For those unfamiliar with Yellow Pages, Yellow Pages is a phone book that was in every household to look up people and companies’ phone numbers and information. Search engines are multifaceted and replaced phonebooks. There are three main search engines: Google, Yahoo, and Bing. Google is designed to give you a definite answer to definitive questions, e.g., “When is the United States founded?” It cannot answer complex questions like “how do I get a boyfriend?” Google replaced phone books and became the new digital phonebook. Google is a directory for websites. It is accessible and is in everyone’s households like the original Yellow Pages.

My question is will Google, Bing, or Yahoo fade away like Yellow Pages? If so, what will replace it? Would it be a social media platform like Instagram or a mobile app?
